it's much later than i thought it was. as a new member of the mother's-dead family and i were talking earlier today about it sometimes turning out to've been.

so shmizla was commenting elsewhere and said, basically of the blues & mean reds & other colors of that kind of suffering, this following thing (which i'm sticking in my margin hereabouts for a while):

i think keeping busy is the best (if only) cure for all this; the ultimate, underlying, always-looming sadness i don't think can ever go away. at least it never does for me, and i don't think it ever does for anyone else with a brain. it's sort of like learning to sleep by a ticking clock, a dripping faucet or a creaky fan.

one likes to include oneself in the category of those with brains. that way one gets, among other perks, the company of other misery, according to the theory presented.

Does anyone actually talk about penises? Out loud? (As opposed to on paper, I guess... I have not actually discussed any actual penises, but I have discussed some imaginary ones.) <--- Lie! I just remembered talking to Amy about her husband's experiences getting a Price Albert, so I guess I have discussed a realio-trulio penis.

Either I'm a lot more repressed than I ever knew, or This Just Ain't In My Social Experience.

Seriously, though, I don't talk about sex that much with anyone, so I wouldn't think it would make a difference if I were in a group with a lesbian or not.

I wouldn't mind, personally, if straight women didn't talk about sex-with-men around me.
