Read Aquarius (for me) and then think that I just went to buy The Real Deal and ended up making it to the bank too late to cash a check I had, and was only able to withdraw a modicum of spending money to lay down as a deposit on it. I thought it really sucked that I couldn't put down a decent deposit, but the seller was cool with it. Also, I had had a little bit of hesitation due to the first test-drive, but the test-drive today and talking with him a bit more made me feel more comfortable about the whole deal and was able to negotiate to just under my target, far from my max.
