It's not often I catch 'em hanging together like that.

Here's just C, the old guy, a few minutes later.
Thinkin' deep thoughts, no doubt.

I see it sometimes on friends-of-friends, courtesy of your membership. It's a little graphics-heavy for me on dial-up at home. Not to mention that I do have SOME threshold of too much cat cute.

Is C solid gray or do I see subtle stripes? Gray kitties, as black ones, are my favs, as far as colors go. My childhood cat was black, but every cat I've had since has been striped. I don't pick 'em; the Universe sends them to me. ;-)

He used to have just a little bit of white hair mid-chest. Now he has some age gray type graying, and sometimes I notice the streaks on the top of his head. They are subtle.

I like stripeys too. My first, Amazing Grace, was.

Is C a russian blue? Just wondering from fur color...doesn't seem to have the facial features, though.

BTW, I'm in lust of your old-school ice chest...I wish they would bring back that style.

So cute!

He's got the right coloring. He's DSH mutt from a shelter, but some Russian Blue seems right. His face used to look a little more like you expect that way. But I seem to remember his eye color being different from the classic.

He undeniably has lots of toes, tho'.

Yeah, it was hard to find that cooler even then, and it has a plastic bottom section. I liked the all-metal, actually. You can do okay on eBay for that stuff, though, sometimes, if you're patient.

Sure, stripey cats are great--all cats are great--and I love my current two cats, J and F, both of whom are stripey. It's just, you know, if another cat were to come into my life at some point, all other things being equal, after nearly 20 years of stripeys, a solid would be novel! :)

They are so cuuuuuute! (That was Jeff posting, btw.)

We think Chet is thinking "Pshew--now that youngster is outta here, and a guy can maybe get some rest.'

This may be totally my imagination or the angle of the photos, but is C thinner than he use to be?

Very cute, looks like they are guilty of something...like hanging out together when they think you're not looking?

How old is C again anyway, like 120 in cat years?

Oh, he's lost a lot of weight. I debate taking him to the vet again. He HATES the vet any more---didn't used to, but now they consider him "fractious." A coupla years ago he got the irradiation for hyperthyroidism, and that seemed to stop his weight loss, but it may have only slowed it. He seems happy & healthy & eats well. Has more energy than before. Dunno.

He's going to be 19 this summer.

I'm really glad he got the irradiation treatment instead of trying to go the medicine route. M's sister's cat had a long battle with hyperthyroidism and she had to put him down (to sleep, whatever. I hate those terms. I guess I should say euthanized but it sounds grandiose to me. For that matter grandiose sounds grandiose.) just recently. He was 16. She was kicking herself for not doing the irradiation treatment. It really is the best route.

I think the last time I saw C was probably pre-treatment. Just didn't remember him looking so svelte. Sounds like he's doing great.

I don't know about "great," but certainly good. I do worry. I guess they often do turn out not to be immortal. Yeah, he used to be quite the honkin' kitty. As much as 16 pounds, if I remember right. I doubt he's half that now, or much more.

Humph, in the meantime, is filling out.

I might be fostering kitties from the shelter soon. I've been approved. Could have a mama in with 'em too. I think Humphrey might dig interacting with 'em.
