I'm thinking this usage of remembrance is more like thoughtful souvenir to show you're thinking of someone, and remember yourself to them, as the saying used to go, when you're somewhere away from them. And the timing of this one is more like the stretch of about 1907 to 1915. But I like the connection to what memory means now. :)
