Here's a Portland card in honor of the carnage of goofiness going on there now.

I've known about this mall from postcards for some time, but this past summer read how, now, after it dying the usual mall death, and before it's to be torn down, it's been revitalized as a low-rent place for inexpensive start-ups and small-biz things by folks who are trying to survive more than to pile up massive profits for themselves and/or their bosses and shareholders and the already-disgustingly-rich.  And it's quirky.  I could go look up the article to give you examples and maybe charm you too, like it charmed me, but it was a refreshing anomaly to hear tell of within the larger oppressing capitalism gone wild, and, like the people interviewed there, even knowing it might not and probably cannot last long, it's a lovely little weird blip of humanity and interactive community with a big ol' swath of creativity.  In a cool now-retro space.  They celebrate it while they have it, and figure they'll find their way after that.  And, in Portland, maybe they'll find their way in more quirky, fun, collective ways.
