Postcard of the Day

Today in Bus Week we have a sort of Where's-Waldo for buses that are sort of not buses any more but food trucks, here:

And for more snow-and-bus action, this one (from maybe a decade later?) that took tourists to a glacier in/near Juneau (Alaska):

The internets tells me you can still do a bus tour there, but on a blue bus.  And the glacier definitely looks smaller, if what I'm looking at in "customer" pictures is the same hunk of glacier.  No one these days seems to be photographing the bus along with the attraction.  (Pity.)

Also I love that plaid jacket that one person has on.  The same style appears in North By Northwest, and that and pants ("slacks") there (in the Mount Rushmore parts of the film) remind me of photos of dead ancestors from around that time.  Just feels like they go with the wood-sided station wagon in the pine grove in that picture.  The butchest ("regular") women got, ordinarily, maybe, in public.  Maybe that Douglas Sirk movie had some similar sartorial action.  The one with Rock Hudson that later was homaged by Todd Haynes in Far From Heaven (which probably hits those clothes too).
