ffloI'd been aiming to get outside by a little after noon, to mow before it got to the upper 70s F. But it was already (the expected high) 79 then. So I'm getting a few of the household things done before I go out there and get all sweaty. Probably it'll take me more than one session, just to do the front yard. I wear long pants, too, and socks, since an injury from a flying rock some years ago. Just a little something to keep the wounds cleaner, it is hoped.
Just agreed to pay some money to watch more baseball games this year. The superstition rises up and suggests to me that I may be dooming the Orioles to a sudden slide by virtue of my having arranged to watch them more; I know this kind of thing makes no sense whatsoever in Reality, but it makes perfect sense in baseball superstition and hypervigilance and anxious mind with a compulsion to turn cogs all the danged time and consider possibilities, even those that it's utterly idiotic to consider.
The long and short of it is that I can watch today's game against the Mariners too.
See it's not that often that the Orioles are really good, and my favorite kind of good is the young not-superstars in the lesser-sized market being good. Oh, sure, I hate the owners. The latest dumbness from the latest Angelos is his suspending an announcer for the sin of saying the team hadn't been playing so well in the past. This stupidity echoes an earlier Angelos, not liking Jon Miller (maybe the best baseball announcer ever) for not being sufficiently rah-rah Orioles, and causing him to leave for his hometown SF. BUT I suppose the owners have something to do with the make-up of the team, and haven't ruined it yet, and I manage to enjoy the game despite it being so man-based and all that stuff. It all goes back to Mighty Joe Orsulak.
Time to go ahead and get some trash & recycling out and exhaust myself. Sure hope it leads to me sleeping well, ahead of the landscapers big day early morning arrival. I'm almost surely going to get ripped off, but the guy has said more than once that I'll be surprised how much the crew of 3 will be able to do in a day. I guess he didn't specifiy whether I'd be surprised that it's only a little bit! Hahahaha. Anticipating what will go wrong is more silly habit-of-mind biz, though, Lisa. Dear. Dear Lisa. Now drink some more water and let's grab the ear buds and get to it!
