quick storm, lotsa power out
Aug. 30th, 2022 10:53 amCheck out the power outages in the DTE (formerly Detroit Edison) service area yesterday afternoon:
My place is under one of the splotches. A splotch of 1500 to 2500 people, so medium density. For part of the evening there was an estimate that my power would be back on at 1:00am, which woulda been great, on account the CPAP battery I inherited from Bert had discharged itself (turns out it drops 20% a month, and I hadn't charged up since last summer). Then at 1:06 a.m. the estimate changed to a vague Tuesday (today). I dunno, though.
Ended up coming in to the office, via a Starbucks drive-through, at the crack of "Wha? Hunh?" and am working on gnarly galleys and trainee galleys, while Bert's battery (plus my phone plus the little NYT powerpack thingie Tracy gave me) charges up. Funny I seem to be up to the editing but not so much the planning of schedules and responding to email and putting out tiny administrative fires.
