Here we have the most boring of scenic generics, the linen generic view with name of place stamped or printed on.

These postcards come from the 1930s and '40s (and sometimes into the '50s).










 
 
And now, a chrome-era version of the same concept.  I kinda like this one.  Maybe the lake really was in/near Elkhart?
