got a lot done today

ffloIt's a Sunday of a long weekend for me, as we have tomorrow off. But we still have chorus. I always forget I don't have a whole long weekend when the Monday's a work holiday but not a chorus holiday.
Have a roast going, for the sake of the potatoes. It's got maybe another hour until the onions will be reduced wildly and the meat falling apart. Used as small a chunk of appropriate meat as I could scare up at the store. Hope the potatoes do their thing.
This year I've been watching some of the Olympics. Not a lot of it, I guess. Figure skating and speed skating and hockey I just skip. I used to like ski jumping a lot, but the snowboard stuff seems more fun now (plus the women doing it seem dykey---something about the outfits and the bibs and the whole somethin'). I seemed to get bored with the downhill skiing variations this year pretty quickly. What I wanted to see all of was. . . . .... . . . . . biathlon. It really grabs me. There's such suspense in the shooting portions, and wild swings in the lead, and I guess I don't care any more about gun associations. Plus there's the question of how fast they go for it, and the whole nerves/psyche thing is huge. And it's also just a funny combo. Like a weird sport to have caught on as it has.
I stopped to look online to see what those Kinetixx gloves they wear are all about, and whether civilians wear them. Probably they're pretty warm, you gotta figure. But I stopped short of buying myself some, or even picking out which ones I like the most and figuring out my size. This is maturity, maybe?
Do think I'll end up buying more sheets soon, though. Cleaned the linen closet out, and got organized with what I've got, and two of my newer/softer/better sets have tears in the fitted sheets. Have you heard of using two top sheets instead of a fitted sheet and a top sheet? Easier to fold, fer sure. Maybe get a king size top sheet to tuck under the queen size mattress. I dunno.
Smells good in here. Bet I could start eating those potatoes pretty much any time. Hungry. But I'm gonna let 'em do their thing.
