The compromises we make, eh? I doubt you'll be permanently tainted, and cable modems are cool. Perhaps you can come up with some purification ritual or something. ; )

We haven't had cable since living in Oakland which would be 1989. Just watching movies and living off the kindness of friends sending us tapes.

Oops. We did have cable when we first moved to Mass. for a week. The landlord hadn't turned his off. But the cable company found out and took it away. No great loss, really.
