  • I like these new yellow highlighters at work. Sharpie, like the pink ones I've been preferring.

  • I don't like the current blue pencils on offer.

  • This cold morning was the second coldest on record for this date & this place.  Made me feel a little better about it.

  • I love my new coat.  It is zounds warmer than my old coat.  At least 2 zounds.

  • Looks like I'm gonna keep a chorus kid company, in the audience, during the fundraiser I feel too squicky about to perform in.  Feels like a solution.

  • The other fundraiser is in two days.  The Queertet one, 50 bucks a head.  I'm both anxious and excited.  I want to enjoy it.  I hope to enjoy it.  I plan to enjoy it.  I aim to enjoy it.

  • Some company is promoting about itself (on NPR) that it has made it is goal to change the fact that 70% of people with diabetes are living in cities.

  • I could really go for some caffeine now.  MUST REMEMBER FULL CONSEQUENCES.

Tell me more about the blue pencils. What do they lack that other blue pencils have?

I heard that NPR ad. It seemed very weird to me. Especially since google tells me that the census has 80% of USians living in urban areas. Do more rural-dwellers need diabetes? It would seem we'd like to lower the overall number of people with diabetes, rather than caring exactly where they live. (I'm guessing they actually want to target diabetes prevention at urban areas, but that is not at all what they *said*.)

Yeah, that bit about wanting to change the fact that 70% of people with diabetes are living in cities has been disturbing me, too. Do they propose shooting urban diabetics, or sending them to rural relocation camps? Or should more people with diabetes live in cities? It just makes no sense.

Reminds me of medical stories that quote grim statistics on the percentage of people who die of some cause. As a motivation for doing something about that cause. I'd like to ask a medical professional, "In a perfect world, what would everyone die from?"

They are a lighter color blue and harder of lead, seems to me, requiring more push to make a mark. Plus I swear their erasers suck, relative to the darker blue pencils'.

I got the white one of the ones you saw me considering, and I'm keeping it, but I also got a black one that's better on cold-cold days, I think, plus not so likely to get dirty. The white one'll be good for its variations on how much coat it means I have on.

Glad others have been bugged by that weirdly phrased goal. Also I like your "USians" --- :]

Hahaha. Point taken! Maybe on some level we think that if we cure all the diseases that cause (earlier] death, we won't die at all.

P.S. Theoretically the white and black ones are equally likely to get dirty, or maybe the white one is actually less likely to, as I'll be aware I've got the white coat on and not roll in the mud in it quite so much as I might otherwise. What I meant was that the black won't show the dirt so much. Y'know.
