Date: Sep. 25th, 2014 12:18 am (UTC)All throughout my childhood, my mother wore men's shoes because she couldn't find any women's shoes big enough for her. When I, in my adulthood, took to wearing men's shoes and mentioned it to her, I discovered that she's switched to wearing women's shoes now because she can now find them on the Internet in her size. She was horrified by my wearing men's shoes: "But why would you do that? They won't fit as well!"
Really? I'm pretty sure they just stamp different numbers on the shoes for men's sizes versus women's sizes while leaving them otherwise identical. Or they just use cheaper materials for the women's shoes.
