This afternoon I'm listening to Episode 266 ("I'm From the Private Sector and I'm Here to Help")---I picked the "special uncut version"---of This American Life. "Contributing Editor Nancy Updike went to Iraq to try to figure out what it's like to be a private citizen working in the middle of a war zone."

I'm only on Act Two, but I already know I want to recommend it.
